How to Choose The Best Blogging Platform | Blogger Guide

In one of my blogger guide series first article "How to Become Successful in Blogging" i explained the team to you and also did a lot of reviews to you about having a free blog. (i advice you read it before this one). Today i will be specific with my words and explanations but i promise to make you understand each line so you can choose the best platform that will advance you in blogging.

Actually before choosing a platform you need to first have the necessary requirements. I might have dived into this too quick because choosing a platform should be one of the last things to do. Assuming i made the decision intentionally, what would be the reason?. Do you want to have a successful blog? if yes just follow my steps and lets choose a platform.

What are Blogging Platforms

I once had a terrible problem with this step back then when i started blogging. I was very nervous, this made making a mistake my fear but i was lucky to be the "Patient" type. I advice you to practice patience (Read: Patience One path to success) too, it will sure help you with blogging as an income source. Lets go to business.

A blogging platform is the software or service that turn a regular site into a functioning blog. A blogging platform is a specific form of a content management system.

In my own terms, a blogging platform is a bigger website which hosts sub-domains (blogs). Platforms varies in a few functions and this few functions my dear are important. Before now i managed four blogs on different platforms and have finally known that there is a different in platforms. So choose wisely. Little review of functions of platforms

• It determines the userfriendliness of your blog
• It determines the design (outlook, main frame, templates) of your blog
• Responsible for general limitations
• I call it the frame work of your blog as it can shot you down whenever it pleases.

 So choosing a platform that is unique with our taste in terms of functions and friendly interface is very important. After choosing a platform from the available platforms which i have listed, I will educate you on who to make the best out of it.

What To Consider Before Choosing a Blogging Platform

Are you stressed out? if you are dear help yourself with a little rest but know that blogging requires learning how to read tirelessly. Every statement is unique and as i earlier said blogging your platform is the frame work of your blog.

Before choosing a platform some important things must be considered to enable us make the best out of blogging. Many bloggers who made certains mistakes are suffering as it might result to no success or a total waste of effort. But do not worry you won't make such mistake so read along with me. Lets take a look at what to consider

Blog Type (Niche Oriented)

the choice of a platform is mainly niche/article oriented, your blog type which means the type of service you want to run, the type of articles you want to write on (News, Technology, Lifestyle, Gossiping, Video etc..), the flexibility you blog would require and also how readily available it will be for the readers.

Most News bloggers, celebrity gossipers in the Likes of Linda Ikeji Blog, Naij.com and Technology bloggers always go for easy to customize platforms. I will advice you if you want to run a blogging based technology blog like Helpbloggger and Ogbonge Blog to experiment all the major platforms, do a lot of tweaking so as to get proper understanding of blogging terms.

Template Customization (Design)

Template customization is another important factor to take not while choosing a platform. Just so you find it useful i advice you open Test blogs so you can play around with the template tweaking with tutorial which i will also emphasize on.

After doing the above step, choosing a platform on the factor of template customization should not be properly understood. I noticed some Nigerian bloggers keeping it clean and simple but adhering to my advice, a fancy and flexible template should do you good.

Follow Your Initiative

At first i didn't consider this as a factor but when i made a reveiw on how i came up with this awesome blog, I realised despite all the credits given to platform by bloggers, your initiative tells whats good for you. It worked for me and could also work for you but if it didn't try reading more articles on this or just follow the credits on various platforms.

Blogging is free and its yours but dear do not forget when opening a blog, its a website designed to serve readers so learn to let your taste suite your readers. Its a good way to build a discussion.
